Volunteers

The main body of Care for Cancer is made up of its volunteers, some of which have been with the organisation for many years. Becoming a Care for Cancer volunteer is a very skilled and rewarding position.

Ongoing training and support are offered to everyone involved with the charity and coupled with enthusiasm and energy, we at Care for Cancer hope that we will be delivering a high quality support network for the people of our local community for many years to come.

At Care for Cancer we are always looking for someone with a few hours to spare, to be involved in the many volunteer opportunities we have available. These include:
- Volunteer Driver : to provide transport for cancer patients to and from hospital Appointments.
- Information and Resource Centre Volunteers: assist in the day to day running of our centre at 6 Prospect Court, Omagh.
- Coffee Morning Volunteers: to assist at our regular coffee mornings and cake sales at the centre.
- Fundraising Volunteers: to help organise and attend fundraising events as we rely totally on the fundraising efforts of our members and the local public to fund the charity.
- Qualified Volunteers: Reflexology and Aromatherapy massage therapists, to offer a few hours for those living with cancer and their carers.
- “Be-Friending” / “Sitting Service”: to offer the odd hour here and there for families of patients being nursed at home.
- Committee Member Volunteers: we are currently looking for new committee members to spare a few hours a month to help make decisions and generate ideas.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or you would like to find out more about our services, you can get in contact with us by phoning 028 82246599, or by dropping into our Information and Resource Centre in Omagh for a chat. With your help we can continue to help the community.
